The Grand House is a stunning old mansion, standing tall for almost 100 years. One can imagine that at this age the building needs much care and effort to keep it in good condition. What are the biggest challenges in your daily routine?
I do not look at taking care of the Grand House as a challenge. Rather, I am motivated to do my job by the fact that the Grand House is the most beautiful, postcard picture perfect building in the city. It is part of the history of the city and as it is a building passed from one generation to the next, I am inspired by its legacy, and the care and affection it requires.
Grand is our darling pet, our baby, junior butler and mascot, but you are the “ Doggy Dad” who takes her home each night. Can you describe what a working day with Grand is like?
The Grand Lady is another important member of our team. She accompanies us in our daily routine and all that it includes. If I have work to do at the Beach Club, I take her with me and when time allows for it, we make a detour to the beach. You know, a water dog must take a bath! When she’s not by my side, she’s in the reception, fulfilling her role as a junior butler and master greeter, indulging in being pampered by guests! Whenever someone has a spare minute they are more than happy to join her on a walk. Grand is happy to just be here with us, as we are with her.
The Grand Universe is full of magic. What do you personally like best about the Grand House?
What’s truly unique about the Grand House is that it is living history. Every aspect about it stimulates the senses. The Grand House is a building with soul and is full of personality.
