The new safety rules implicate a lot of attention and extra work. Can you briefly describe what has changed especially in the day to day tasks of the Housekeeping team?
The most important thing is to ensure the safety and trust of all guests so that they feel as if they were in their own home. Thus, in addition to the daily cleaning, we will have the responsibility to reinforce the hygiene of all rooms and common areas, paying more attention to the disinfection of all areas of greater contact, which increases the time dedicated to all these activities.
The borders between Portugal and Spain will soon open again. What do you think were the biggest difficulties for Portugal in this case?
The large number of contagions by Covid-19 in Spain foreced Portugal to strengthen the health security of the country, which caused finally the closure of the borders. All this had serious economic consequences in all sectors, one of the most affected being the tourism sector. For Portugal, opening the borders is a very important decision to be able to reactivate the country’s economy.
The Grand Universe is full of magic. What do you personally like best about the Grand House?
Personally, I am delighted with its architecture and decoration of the Grand House Hotel, in addition to the personalized way we treat all our guests. The Grand House Hotel is located in a privileged area of Vila Real de Santo António, on a main avenue that runs along the banks of the Guadiana River with views of a wonderful marina and Spain.
